Gaudi

KWPN Stallion - 2011 - 1.68 m - KWPN 528003201100630 – Approved AES

Imported in 2018 by Scot Tolman to the United States. Gaudi stood successfully for Shooting Star Farms until Dr. Janice Posnikoff was fortunate enough to acquire him in September of 2025. Now standing at Okanagen Equine Vet Services in  Kelowna, BC Canada

Gaudi’s sire Totilas needs no introduction. Widely regarded as one of the most influential dressage horses of all time, this KWPN Stallion redefined the sport with unprecedented expression, athleticism and presence. With Edward Gal, Totilas broke multiple international scoring records and has produced multiple licensed stallions and successful Grand Prix horses worldwide, showing his impact on breeding programs.

Gaudi's dam is the Elite Preferent, Prestatie mare Annabel, by De Niro. Bred by the Jansen family at Stable Joppe in The Netherlands, Gaudi boasts an exceptional pedigree. Annabel is also the dam of the KWPN-licensed stallions Bretton Woods and Chagall, and from this same influential dam line comes the licensed stallion Legends KS. Annabel leads the KWPN dressage mare index and has produced multiple International sport and grand prix horses, as well as several approved stallions, underlining her exceptional value as a broodmare.

Gaudi was presented at the 2014 KWPN Stallion Licensing and was accepted for the Stallion Performance testing.  Unfortunately, due to a  career ending neck injury sustained during training, he was unable to participate, however Gaudi is fully approved with the AES studbook. His progeny are also eligible for KWPN register A papers.

Gaudi combines an exceptional pedigree with an outstanding mare line. His bloodlines offer breeders a valuable outcross, being free of Jazz, Flemmingh, and Ferro.  In addition to his impressive pedigree, Gaudi is known for his excellent temperament, and he shows ample power, elasticity, and expression in his movement. He consistently produces modern, elegant offspring with supple, balanced movement out of a wide range of mares. HIs oldest offspring under saddle are proving to be highly trainable and talented. Gaudi is a genetic powerhouse.

In the USA and Canada Gaudi has been very successful as a Dressage Breeding sire. In 2021 he was USEF Leading Sire in Dressage Breeding with over 3 times the points as the second place stallion.  Following that success in 2022,  2023 and 2024 he was Reserve Champion, as well as 2023's top KWPN-NA Keuring sire.

In 2024 Gaudi produced an outstanding North American foal crop siring more First Premium dressage foals than any other stallion, including three keuring site champion dressage foals.

Fresh and Frozen Semen available for Canada and the USA.  Gaudi  is homozygous negative for the WFFS mutation.

With elite genetics, a proven mare line, and promising offspring on the ground, Gaudi is a stallion poised to make a lasting impact on modern dressage breeding.
